Christopher Lang (TU Darmstadt): Ekedahl-Oort Stratification of Deligne-Lusztig Varieties

When developing a stratificaion of Rapoport-Zink spaces, Vollaard and
Wedhorn constructed a decomposition of a certain Deligne-Lusztig variety
for a unitary group using smaller Deligne-Lusztig varieties. We will show
that this decomposition can be obtained by pullback of the Ekedahl-Oort
stratification of G-Zips. With this method one gets an Ekedahl-Oort
stratification of flag varieties for reductive groups, which refines the
usual stratification by Deligne-Lusztig varieties.
