Canonical integral models for Shimura varieties defined by tori

November 4, 2022 at 15:3017:10 CET

Patrick Daniels (University of Michigan)

Pappas and Rapoport have recently shown that a p-adic integral model for Shimura variety  with parahoric level structure is characterized by the existence of a universal shtuka, and they conjecture the existence of such a canonical integral model in general. We will illustrate the conjecture in the case of a Shimura variety defined by a torus, where (surprisingly), the theory is already nontrivial. We will also explain how prismatic F-crystals arise naturally when constructing the universal shtuka in the torus case.
