SUMMARY:On the Drinfeld's Lemma for the pro-étale fundamental group
DESCRIPTION:Seminar on Arithmetic Geometry: \nMarcin Lara (Goethe University) \nDrinfeld’s Lemma for the étale fundamental group serves as a replacement for the Künneth formula in positive characteristic\, that holds even when neither of the varieties is proper. I will report on the progress towards extending this result to the pro-étale fundamental group of Bhatt-Scholze. Note: this is still quite an early stage of the project.

SUMMARY:Integral p-adic cohomology for open and singular varieties
DESCRIPTION:Veronika Ertl (Universität Regensburg) \nIn this talk I will explain a joint result with Johannes Sprang and Atsushi Shiho. Under certain conditions of resolutions of singularities in positive characteristic\, we construct a “good” integral p-adic cohomology theory for open and singular varieties\, by using a version of Voevodsky’s h-topology. I will explain the construction and clarify in which sense our cohomology is a “good” p-adic cohomology theory. I will also touch on the question why a similar approach does not work in full generality without resolutions of singularities. \nlivestream:\nhttp://129.206.106.240/UzPL29kB/mathematikon-seminarraum.html

SUMMARY:Geometry and the universal family in the tame case
DESCRIPTION:Moduli of Langlands parameters \nContinue the study of the geometry of Z1(WF0/PF \, Gˆ) [DHKM20\, §2.3]. Explain how to define ℓ– adic continuity for more general coefficient rings\, and construct the universal ℓ-adically continuous L-parameter [DHKM20\, §2.4]. Time permitting\, explain how instead of [DHKM20\, Definition 2.11]\, one could deal with continuity for general coefficients using condensed mathematics as in [FS21\, §VIII]. \nTimo Richarz (University Darmstadt): \nZoom: \nMeeting-ID: 61220727363 \nPassword: largest six digit prime

SUMMARY:Canonical integral models for Shimura varieties defined by tori
DESCRIPTION:Patrick Daniels (University of Michigan) \nPappas and Rapoport have recently shown that a p-adic integral model for Shimura variety  with parahoric level structure is characterized by the existence of a universal shtuka\, and they conjecture the existence of such a canonical integral model in general. We will illustrate the conjecture in the case of a Shimura variety defined by a torus\, where (surprisingly)\, the theory is already nontrivial. We will also explain how prismatic F-crystals arise naturally when constructing the universal shtuka in the torus case. \nMeeting-ID: 635 7328 0984\nPassword: smallest six digit prime

SUMMARY:Non-abelian Chabauty for the thrice-punctured line and the Selmer section conjecture
DESCRIPTION:Martin Lüdtke (Reichsuniversität Groningen) \nFor a smooth projective hyperbolic curve over a number field K the set of rational points X(K) is finite by Faltings’ Theorem. Grothendieck’s section conjecture predicts that this set can be described via Galois sections of the étale fundamental group of X. On the other hand\, the non-abelian Chabauty method produces p-adic analytic functions which conjecturally cut out X(K) as a subset of X(Qp). We relate the two conjectures and discuss the example of the thrice-punctured line\, where non-abelian Chabauty is used to prove a local-to-glocal principle for the section conjecture. \nlivestream:\nhttp://129.206.106.240/UzPL29kB/mathematikon-seminarraum.html

SUMMARY:International Seminar on Automorphic Forms: The invariants of the Weil representation of SL_2(Z)
DESCRIPTION:The transformation behaviour of the vector valued theta function of a positive definite even lattice under the metaplectic group Mp_2(Z) is described by the Weil representation. This representation plays an important role in the theory of automorphic forms. We show that its invariants are induced from 5 fundamental invariants. \nYou can join the Zoom meeting at https://tu-darmstadt.zoom.us/j/68048280736 \nThe password is the first Fourier coefficient of the modular j-function (as digits).

SUMMARY:"Classifying" fake projective planes
DESCRIPTION:Matthew Stover (Temple University) \nAbstract: \n A fake projective plane is a smooth complex projective surface with the same \ncomplex cohomology as the projective plane. I will describe several more refined \n"classifications"\, starting with the very vague "they are ball quotients"\, describing \na shorter proof (with shortcut via work of Esnault-Groechenig) of Klingler's theorem \nthat the associated lattice in PU(2\,1) is arithmetic\, and ending with my recent proof \nthat there are exactly 46 up to the action of Aut(C) (equivalently\, isomorphism of \nétale fundamental group). \nOberseminar Algebra und Geometrie \nZoom\nmeeting-ID: 635 5834 1373\npassword: the number of fake projective planes up to biholomorphism (read wikipedia carefully)

SUMMARY:The Gauss problem for central leaves
DESCRIPTION:Valentijn Karemaker (Universiteit Utrecht) \nAbstract: \nFor a family of finite sets whose cardinalities are naturally called class numbers\, \nthe Gauss problem asks to determine the subfamily in which every member has class number one. \nWe study the Siegel moduli space of abelian varieties in characteristic p and solve the Gauss problem \nfor the family of central leaves\, which are the loci consisting of points whose associated p-divisible groups \nare isomorphic. Our solution involves mass formulae\, computations of automorphism groups\, \nand a careful analysis of Ekedahl-Oort strata in genus 4. This geometric Gauss problem is \nclosely related to an arithmetic Gauss problem for genera of positive-definite quaternion Hermitian lattices\, \nwhich we also solve.\nOberseminar Algebra und Geometrie (Frankfurt)

SUMMARY:Characterizing every finitely generated field by a field axiom
DESCRIPTION:Oberseminar Algebra und Geometrie \nFlorian Pop (University of Pennsylvania\, Philadelphia) \nAbstract:\nRecall that the Hilbert Problem 10 (HP10) has a negative answer (by work of Davis\, Putman\, Julia Robinson\, culminating with Matijasevich). That implies at least intuitively that the arithmetic of global fields is “very complicated.” An intriguing question arising from the negative solution to HP10 is whether the arithmetic is so complicated that the isomorphism type of every global field can be “encoded” in a single field axiom\, i.e.\, whether for every global field $K$ there is a field axiom\, say $\varphi_K$\, such that for all global fields $L$ one has $L\cong K$\, provided $\varphi_K$ is true in $L$. It was shown by Rumely in 1980 that such a field axiom $\varphi_K$ does exist indeed for every global field $K$. In my talk I will explain all the terms\, and show that the above fact is true for  all finitely generated fields. This is joint work with Philip Dittmann.

SUMMARY:Moduli of Langlands parameters: Moduli of Langlands parameters
DESCRIPTION:Recall the definition of the Weil group of a non-archimedean local field. Give some recollections about reductive groups\, in order to define the L-group and\nL-homomorphisms. Give the different possible definitions [DHKM20\, (1)-(4) on pages 2 and 4] of L-parameters. Explain why these agree for ℓ-adic coefficients\, using Grothendieck’s ℓ-adic monodromy theorem\, and why they differ for more general coefficients \nZoom: \nMeeting-ID: 61220727363 \nPassword: largest six digit prime
