SUMMARY:Seminar on Perverse Sheaves and Intersection Cohomology
DESCRIPTION:Talk 3: Perverse sheaves (Joao Lobo) \nRecall the notion of a t-structure on a stable category and introduce the\nstandard t-structure on (hypercomplete) sheaves on a topological space as the main example for us. Prove how to glue two t-structures in a recolle-ment (e.g. [Ban07\, Theorem 7.2.2]). Define the perverse t-structure on the category of hypersheaves on a stratified topological space and prove that it is indeed a t-structure [HPT26\, Section 3]. Explain how it restricts to a t-structure on constructible sheaves [HPT26\, Remark 4.2.12]. More classical literature can be found in [Dim04\, Section 5.1] or [Ban07\, Section 7]. \nhttps://uni-mainz-de.zoom.us/j/64063305650?pwd=DfaEkoLgqOJRGRL9z6MDbluM5cHMtx.1 \nMeeting-ID: 640 6330 5650 \nKenncode: 384917

SUMMARY:AGTZ-Kolloquium
DESCRIPTION:Sebastian Wolf (Kopenhagen) \nHigher Compacta and fundamental groups in rigid geometry\nThe category of condensed anima\, introduced by Clausen and Scholze\, is a setting for homotopical objects that carry an additional “topological” structure. We will begin by studying the subcategory of coherent condensed anima that forms a higher analogue of compact Hausdorff spaces. It turns out that many of the formal properties of (sheaves on) compact Hausdorff spaces carry over to this more general setting. Using some of these tools\, we will then turn to examples arising from rigid geometry and use this perspective to study fundamental groups of rigid spaces.

SUMMARY:Seminar on Arithmetic Geometry
DESCRIPTION:Fabian Schnelle (University of Münster): Igusa stacks for certain abelian-type Shimura varieties \nIgusa stacks are objects of p-adic geometry that are supposed to interpolate Igusa varieties and help to analyze the cohomology of Shimura varieties from the vantage point of the categorical local Langlands correspondence. In this talk\, I will discuss the construction of Igusa stacks for certain abelian-type Shimura varieties that naturally arise from a PEL datum and are associated with the Weil restriction of an F-group\, for F a totally real number field. For this construction\, we leverage the existence of certain hybrid spaces that serve as a bridge between PEL-type and abelian-type Shimura varieties. \nZoom (635 7328 0984\, Kenncode: kleinste sechsstellige Primzahl)

SUMMARY:AGTZ-Kolloquium
DESCRIPTION:Gordie Williamson (Sidney) \nTitle: Intersection cohomology over rings \nAbstract: Intersection (co)homology is a beautiful invariant of singular spaces\, e.g. singular  complex algebraic varieties. Over the rationals it satisfies a raft of strong properties (e.g.  Poincaré duality\, hard  Lefschetz\, pure Hodge structure\,…) which still seem like a miracle.  In their paper introducing these groups\, Goresky and MacPherson point out that (unlike the integral cohomology of smooth manifolds) it fails to satisfy Poincaré duality over the  integers. Subsequent sheaf theoretic approaches have clarified the situation\, and in fact  one can prove that there is no reasonable theory over the integers which satisfies Poincaré  duality. I will discuss intersection cohomology\, give several simple examples that illustrate  the theory. Then I will discuss work in progress with F. Klein and T. Fell where we introduce  self-dual theory over certain p-adic rings. Interestingly\, a self-dual theory exists if one is  allowed to add enough roots of p. We don’t quite know what to make of this\, but maybe  someone in the audience does…

SUMMARY:Eigenvarieties and p-adic rigidity for GSp4
DESCRIPTION:Charlotte Clare-Hunt (University of Oxford) \nThere has been substantial progress in the construction of eigenvarieties and p-adic families of automorphic forms\, and their relationship with Selmer groups and (p-adic) L-functions. In this talk I will introduce some of these constructions\, starting with the interpolation of modular forms\, and the concept of complete p-adic rigidity: the non-existence of nontrivial p-adic deformations. I will explain some of the techniques used to study the geometry of eigenvarieties\, and how these specialise to show that certain noncuspidal ‘Saito—Kurokawa’ points are completely p-adically rigid. If time permits\, I will also briefly outline how similar strategies may be used to construct p-adic families through cuspidal\, nonholomorphic Saito—Kurokawa points and to produce nontrivial Selmer classes predicted by the Bloch—Kato conjecture.

SUMMARY:Seminar on Perverse Sheaves and Intersection Cohomology
DESCRIPTION:Talk 6: Intersection cohomology 3: Poincar´e duality (Klaus Mattis) \nProve the support and cosupport conditions for perverse sheaves [Dim04\,\nProposition 5.1.16]\, [KS90\, Proposition 10.2.4 and 10.2.5]. Recall Verdier duality for the six functor formalism of sheaves on topological spaces and the duality functor DX = hom(−\, ωX). Explain how duality interchanges j∗ and j!. Use the support and cosupport conditions to show how DX interchanges the p-connective and q-coconnective part of the perverse t-structure for complementary perversities p and q(n) = −n − p(n). From this\, prove that DXICp(L) ≃ ICq(L∨)\, where L∨ is the dual local system of L and deduce Poincar´e duality for intersection cohomology. Also see [Ban07\, Theorem 4.4.1]. \nhttps://uni-mainz-de.zoom.us/j/64063305650?pwd=DfaEkoLgqOJRGRL9z6MDbluM5cHMtx.1 \nMeeting-ID: 640 6330 5650 \nKenncode: 384917
