DESCRIPTION:Shai Keidar (Uni Regensburg) \nTitle: pi-finite Galois theory \nAbstract: In the higher-categorical world\, Galois theory extends beyond finite groups: one can study Galois extensions for an arbitrary E_1-group. We develop such a theory for higher semiadditive categories\, where finite groups are naturally replaced by pi-finite groups. Under height assumptions\, we construct an n-truncated pro-pi-finite “absolute Galois group” representing all Galois extensions\, and develop a higher Kummer theory relating abelian extensions to the Picard spectrum. As an illustration\, we attach a pro-pi-finite Galois space to a rational Stefanich ring and give an algorithm computing it.

SUMMARY:Elliptic curves attached to abelian threefolds with imaginary multiplication
DESCRIPTION:Pip Goodman (University of Barcelona) \nLet A be an abelian threefold defined over a number field K whose endomorphism algebra is isomorphic to an imaginary quadratic field M. In recent joint work with Fité\, we proved the existence of an elliptic curve E defined over K with CM by M such that for any prime \ell\, the twisted Tate module V_\ell(E) (1)  is a sub representation of \wedge^3 V_\ell(A).\nIn this talk I will give an overview of the proof of the above result and present work in progress with Chidambaram and Fité where we provide explicit families of examples of the above phenomenon.

DESCRIPTION:Konstantin Jakob (Darmstadt): Algebraic Loops and Stokes Braids \nThe irregular class of a rank n differential equation with an irregular singularity may be viewed as a polynomial map to the configuration space of n points. Such irregular classes feature prominently in Boalch’s construction of wild character varieties\, which are Betti moduli spaces for irregular connections. As the local coordinate winds around the singularity\, the irregular class describes the motion of eigenvalues of leading terms; this motion determines a braid\, called the Stokes braid. \nI will report on joint work with Masoud Kamgarpour and Ian Le in which we classify braids arising from such algebraic loops in terms of valuation data. SUMMARY:The Morrison-Kawamata-Cone conjecture for Enriques surfaces in any characteristic
DESCRIPTION:Let X be a normal projective variety over an algebraically closed field and with numerically trivial canonical bundle\, for instance a Calabi-Yau manifold. The Morrison – Kawamata cone conjecture predicts that the automorphism group of X acts with a rational polyhedral fundamental domain on the effective nef cone of X. We give a new proof of the Morrison–Kawamata cone conjecture for Enriques surfaces independent of their characteristic. It is based on the analysis of certain generically finite morphisms of degree two. This is joint work with Gebhard Martin and Tobias Schnieders.

DESCRIPTION:Franziska Jahnke (Universität Münster) \nFrankfurter Seminar \nAbstract: Under which circumstances can we use insights about fields of positive characteristic to understand fields of characteristic 0 (and conversely)?\nClassical methods to transfer results between fields of different  characteristics are the Lefshetz principle and the Ax Kochen/Ershov Theorem which states that asymptotically\, the theory of the p-adic numbers ℚp and of power series fields 𝔽p((t)) coincide. Tilting perfectoid fields gives a transfer principle between certain henselian fields of mixed characteristic and their positive characteristic counterparts and vice versa. In this talk\, we survey various transfer principles and present a model-theoretic approach to tilting via ultraproducts\, which allows us to transfer many first-order properties between a perfectoid field and its tilt. \n

We will shortly review this concept and some universal properties of specific tannakian categories. Similar universal properties also make sense for stable categories. We will enlarge a corresponding result of Iwanari for the general linear group to orthogonal and symplectic groups and give applications to categories of etale motives.\nThis is joint work in progress with Hadrian Heine.

DESCRIPTION:Yujie Xu (Columbia University): On Hecke algebras for p-adic groups and applications to the local Langlands correspondence \nI will talk about several results on Hecke algebras attached to Bernstein blocks of arbitrary reductive p-adic groups\, and their applications to the local Langlands program. One such application is an explicit understanding of the (classical) arithmetic Local Langlands correspondence with explicit L-packets. Another such application involves various categorical “upgrades”\, for example\, an equivalence between module categories of Hecke algebras arising from both the automorphic and the spectral sides. SUMMARY:Fibering out Calabi-Yau motives\, the asymptotic of higher genus invariants and black hole physics
DESCRIPTION:Mirror symmetry implies that the higher genus Gromov-Witten (GW)\, Pandharipande-Thomas (PT) and\ncertain Donaldson-Thomas (DT) invariants on the A-model side are encoded in generating functions which are related to analytic\nsections of line bundles over the complex moduli space on the B-model side constructed from the periods. This relates the\nasymptotic behaviour of the invariants as extracted at the point of maximal unipotent monodromy to the behaviour of these sections\nnear the closest singularities\, typically a conifold. Here the relevant analytic information is encoded in closed and open\nmodular period integrals over the modular domain of $\Gamma_0(N)$. The latter structures are determined by properties\nof the degenerate Calabi-Yau motive in the conifold fibre\, which have been proven by the fibering out technique with B\”onisch and\nGolyshev. We comment on the implications of the asymptotic behaviour of the symplectic invariants for the estimates of the\nmicroscopic entropy of supersymmetric black holes and black rings as investigated recently with Alexandrov and Pioline.

DESCRIPTION:Konstantin Emming (Wayne State University) \nTitle: Filtrations in C-motivic stable homotopy theory \nEmpirical evidence suggests that there is an interesting class of motivic spectra (containing  for example the sphere spectrum and Hermitian K-theory) whose effective  motivic slices are indexed by the Adams-Novikov E_2-page of their Betti realizations. In this talk\, we will show that there are more C-motivic spectra satisfying this property. For example\, the C-motivic modular forms spectrum mmf. Our approach to this problem will also recompute the slices of the aforementioned spectra. \nThe results rely on the filtered spectrum model for C-motivic (stable\, cellular\, 2-complete) homotopy theory due to Gheorghe-Isaksen-Krause-Ricka. We construct filtered spectrum models for the effective filtration and use these to compute the effective slices. \nIf time permits\, we will also consider other motivic filtrations such as the one coming from Morel’s homotopy t-structure\, or Spitzweck-Østvær’s very effective filtration. We will then provide filtered spectrum versions of these filtrations in C-motivic homotopy theory.

SUMMARY:p-adic singular moduli and higher Green’s functions
DESCRIPTION:Hazem Hassan (Mc Gill University / Universität Heidelberg) \n\nHeegner cycles are the higher weight analogues to Heegner points. Those points and cycles play an important role in the theory of complex multiplication and of the arithmetic of elliptic curves of rank 1. Stark-Heegner points are conjectural points on elliptic curves which would be the real-quadratic counterparts to Heegner points in the emerging theory of real multiplication. In this theory\, Darmon-Vonk’s rigid meromorphic cocycles seem to be the real-quadratic analogue of singular moduli.\n\nI will present a generalization of rigid meromorphic cocycles to higher weight and use it to define a p-adic higher Green’s functions on real-quadratic points. This construction is motivated by the recently resolved conjecture by Gross and Zagier  on the algebraicity of values of complex higher Green’s functions. I will present a conjecture on the algebraicity of values of the p-adic Green’s functions that has been numerically verified. The values of the p-adic Green’s function are best envisioned as p-adic local intersection numbers of certain conjectured cycles associated to RM-points\, the so-called Stark-Heegner cycles.

DESCRIPTION:Vukašin Mihajlović (Darmstadt): Central Sheaves for Ramified Groups \nOne of the main obstacles with trying to transfer classical results in geometric representation theory to the language of motives is the lack of a good notion of t-structure on the full category DM which would play the role of the perverse t-structure in the classical setting. However\, when the spaces considered have stratifications with a nice enough geometry\, one can still formulate some results motivically by restricting our category of motivic sheaves to certain nice subcategories\, like those of Tate or Artin-Tate motives. However\, these subcategories don’t automatically inherit the good categorical properties of DM\, as they are not stable under the six operations. Here is where one needs to prove\, by looking into the geometry of our problem more carefully\, that the functors of interest to our setup do indeed preserve these subcategories. DESCRIPTION:Yanik Kleibrink (Darmstadt): Period Maps from Log Prismatic Realization Functors \nI will start by surveying the recent development of logarithmic prismatic cohomology by Koshikawa and Yao that extends the original work by Bhatt and Scholze. In particular\, I will introduce the logarithmic prismatic realization functor for toroidal compactifications of integral canonical models of Shimura varieties of Hodge type constructed by Inoue\, which extends the realization functor of Imai\, Kato\, and Youcis. Using this realization functor\, I will present work-in-progress concerning the definition of a mod \(p\)-period map of the special fiber of an integral canonical model of Shimura variety of Hodge type to the stack of \(G\Zip\)s. DESCRIPTION:Menelaos Zikidis (University of Pittsburgh): Joyce Structures on Moduli of Quadratic Differentials \nAbstract: Joyce Structures are the output of Bridgeland’s largely conjectural program aiming to encode the DT- invariants of triangulated CY3 categories in a geometric structure over their space of stability conditions\, akin to Frobenius structures in GW-theory. In this talk I will concentrate on the main class of examples we can currently construct a Joyce structure\, namely on certain categories associated to quivers with potential. In those cases\, the space of stability conditions becomes the moduli of meromorphic quadratic differentials on wild algebraic curves and Joyce structures arise as isomonodromy connections on a space parametrising irregular parabolic Higgs bundles and flat connections\, a model resembling a complexification of the Hitchin system. These structures naturally give rise to a class of complex Hyperkähler manifolds and admit a twistor space description. \n  \n
