DESCRIPTION:Zeros of Poincaré series\nNoam Kimmel (MPIM Bonn) \nWe explore the zeros of certain Poincaré series P(k\,m) of weight k and index m for the full modular group. These are distinguished modular forms\, which have played a key role in the analytic theory of modular forms. We study the zeros of P(k\,m) when the weight k tends to infinity. The case where the index m is constant was considered by Rankin who showed that in this case almost all of the zeros lie on the unit arc |z|=1. In this talk we will explore the location of the zeros when the index m grows with the weight k\, finding a range of different limit laws. Along the way\, we also establish a version of Quantum Unique Ergodicity for some ranges. \nZoom (680 4828 0736\, The password is the first Fourier coefficient of the modular j-function (as digits)).

DESCRIPTION:On an algebro-geometric approach to the automatic convergence theorem for Shimura varieties\nHaocheng Fan (BICMR – Peking University) \nIn the first part of this talk\, I will provide an upper bound for the coherent cohomological dimension of the Siegel modular variety\, and then show that the boundary of the compactified Siegel modular variety satisfies the Grothendieck–Lefschetz condition\, which implies the automatic convergence theorem in this case. DESCRIPTION:Faltings heights and subleading terms of adjoint L-functions\nRyan Chen (Princeton) \nColmez’s conjecture predicts that Faltings heights of CM abelian varieties appear in subleading terms of certain Artin L-functions. An averaged version is known by the work of Andreatta–Goren–Howard–Madapusi and Yuan–Zhang. We propose a generalized problem relating diagonal cycles on (n-1)-dimensional unitary Shimura varieties and adjoint L-functions of certain automorphic representations of U(n). The case n=1 is (a variant of) the averaged Colmez conjecture. I will explain some origins of our conjecture\, discuss our predictions in the general case\, and report on our results in the case in the case of n = 2\, via trace formula. SUMMARY:Seminar on Perverse Sheaves and Intersection Cohomology
DESCRIPTION:Talk 2: Stratified spaces and constructivle sheaves \nIntroduce the notion of a stratified space over a poset and morphisms be-tween them [Hai24\, Section 1.2]\, [AFR19\, Section 1.1]. Quickly recall the six functor formalism of sheaves on (nice) topological spaces. Introduce the category of constructible sheaves on a stratified space and explain its compatibility with ∗- and !-functors [HPT26\, Section 2.2 and 2.5]. Mention that later we will mostly be interested in those with perfect stalks [HPT26\, Notation 4.1.1]. Introduce the exit path category and state [Lur17\, The-orem A.3.2] [PT26\, Theorem 2]. More classical literature on this subject can for example be found in [Dim04\, Section 4].
